CoEnzyme Q10 Plus by Blooms
Enjoy renewed vitality with Blooms CoEnzyme Q10 Plus with vitamin E and fish oil which assist with optimal absorption of the powerful antioxidant CoEnzyme Q10. This formulation helps improve stamina, endurance and recovery after exercise. Especially good for people on cholesterol medication and women on the pill who can have lower levels of both CoEnzymeQ10 and vitamin E.
Energy & Vitality:
Helps to improve stamina and endurance, and can help maintain performance as well as assist recovery following exercise.
Women's Health:
Women taking oral contraceptives have lower levels of CoEnzyme Q10 and Vitamin E, and could possibly benefit from supplementation.
Heart/Circulation:
CoEnzyme Q10 is a powerful free radical scavenger that may assist in maintaining peripheral circulation and inhibits oxidation of LDL (bad) cholesterol. If you are taking cholesterol lowering medication (statin) you might consider also taking CoEnzyme Q10. Cholesterol lowering medications can reduce the levels of CoEnzyme Q10 and supplementation is recommended to maintain energy levels.
CoEnzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an essential component of the mitochondria, the energy producing part of the cell, where it regulates energy production. The addition of fish oil not only provides essential fatty acids but also acts as a mucosal transporter to maximise gastrointestinal absorption. Vitamin E, in its natural state, provides superior bioavailability, in addition to delivering antioxidant activity by inhibiting the production of free radicals.
Each soft gel capsule contains:
Ubidecarenone (CoEnzyme Q10) 50 mg
Fish oil - natural 150 mg
equivalent Omega-3 marine triglycerides 45 mg
d-alpha Tocopherol (Vitamin E 50IU) 33.6 mg
No added gluten, yeast, milk derivatives, salt, lactose, sugar, artificial colour, flavour or preservatives.
CoQ10, also known as ubiquinone or ubidecarenone, is an intracellular free radical scavenger, thus it functions as a powerful antioxidant. It is a naturally occurring substance which plays a critical role in the production of cellular energy, therefore is of particular importance in conditions where energy production is sub-optimal.
CoQ10's membrane stabilising effect and ability to improve tissue oxygenation makes it of specific use in cells with a high energy turnover such as nerve, cardiac, muscle and white blood cells. CoEnzyme Q10 stores decreases with ageing
Directions for use:
Adults: Take one capsule 3 times daily with food.
Do not take while on warfarin therapy without medical advice. Vitamin supplements should not replace a balanced diet.
Interactions:
Anti-hyperlipidaemics ("Statins") The statin drugs (eg lovastatin, simvastatin) are known to decrease CoQ10 levels, as both cholesterol and CoQ10 share the same metabolic pathways.
Doxorubicin - CoQ10 may increase the cardiotoxicity of doxorubicin.
Antidiabetic medications - CoQ10 may improve glycaemic control thus medication dosage may need appropriate adjusting.
Pregnant or Breastfeeding:
Because of a lack of long-term safety studies, pregnant women and nursing mothers should avoid CoQ10 supplements.
