Bergamot Oil by Thursday Plantation
Bergamot's juicy, mouth-watering tang brings delicious relief to stressed, tense bodies or a refreshing pause during the later stages or pregnancy.
Popularised in Italian medicine folklore, Bergamot is pressed from the fresh peel of a small orange, Citrus aurantium var. bergamia, first grown in the northern Italian village of Bergamot. The oil is one of the most widely used in the perfumery and toiletry industry and is also the flavour of Earl Grey Tea.
Oil Properties:
The scent of the oil is basically citrus, yet fruity and sweet, with a warm spicy floral quality and is reminiscent of neroli as well as lavender oil. The colour ranges from green to greenish-yellow and the oil has a watery viscosity. Scent characteristic is of a Top note, vapourising quickly.
Applications:
To Calm Nerves and for temporary relief of Stress.- Vaporisation: 5 drops (1/4mL) in water in an oil burner. Massage:mix 5 drops (1/4mL) into 10mL of carrier oil. Rub into neck, shoulders or full body. Bath: Mix 5 drops (1/4mL) with 5 drops (1/4mL) of Sunspirit Solubalizer and disperse in bath water.
For relief of symptoms of Acne, Cold Sores and Eczema - Direct Application: Dilute 5 drops (1/4mL) into 10mL carrier oil. Apply twice daily.

Bergamot oil goes particularly well with other essential oils such as black pepper, clary sage, cypress, frankincense, geranium, jasmine, mandarin, nutmeg, orange, rosemary, sandalwood, vetiver and ylang-ylang.
